Karoussis, John

Dr Ioannis K. Karoussis received an honorary Degree in Dental Medicine for excellence during studies from the University of Athens (1994). At the same University he received a honorary Masters Degree in Oral Biology (1999) and he graduated the Specialization program in Periodontology (1999). He continued his postgraduate studies at the University of Berne, Switzerland where he received his Dr med Dent title (2002) and he was further specialized in Periodontology and Oral Implantology (2002). He is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Periodontology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and he runs a Private practice limited in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry. During his career Dr Karoussis was honoured with a Colgate Palmolive Hellas award for excellence during studies, with a scholarship from the National Scholarship Foundation of Greece, for achievement of the highest marks among postgraduates in all fields of specialization, with a Papavramides Foundation scholarship for his doctoral thesis in Berne, Switzerland, with a scholarship from International Team for Oral Implantology (ITI) and he received  the ‘’SGI- Nachwuchsförderpreis’’ Award of the Swiss Society of Implantology for the best research project (2002), and the 1^st ‘’Robert Frank’’ Senior Prize from the Continental European Division of the IADR (2002). He has published in several national and international journals and he is Associate Editor of the Journal: “Odontostomatological Progress” Published in Athens Greece.
